Further questions about telc exams in Munich at alinguas
How does the exam work?
We normally offer the telc German B1 exam over two days. The written exam takes place on Thursdays or Fridays and the oral exam on Saturdays. Sometimes we also offer the exam on just one day, in which case the written exam is in the morning and the oral exam in the afternoon. You can always find the exact dates and days in the schedule (see above), in the registration form, and in our confirmation email.
The telc German B2 exam always takes place over two days: on Thursdays the written exam takes place and the oral exam on Saturdays.
The telc German C1 Hochschule exam always takes place on Fridays (the written exam in the morning and the oral exam in the afternoon).
You will receive an email from us with the exact time you need to be at the exam center on the day of the exam. We are located right next to the Hohenzollernplatz subway station! (Address: Hohenzollernplatz 5, 80796 Munich).
What happens on the day of the telc exam?
On the day of the exam, you must first come to the office to show your ID, check and confirm your details, and hand in your cell phone, watch, and any other electronic devices, because you are not allowed to take these with you into the exam room!
After that, we will begin with the introduction, followed by the exam. You will have 90 minutes for the first part. During these 90 minutes, you will complete the Leseverstehen and Sprachbausteine. Please note: There is no extra time to write down your answers! After 90 minutes, you must hand in your answer sheet! This is followed by the Hörverstehen section (B1: approx. 30 minutes, B2: approx. 20 minutes, C1 Hochschule: approx. 40 minutes) and then the schriftlicher Ausdruck section (B1 & B2: 30 minutes; C1 Hochschule: 70 minutes). There is no break in the B1 and B2 exams, but in the C1 Hochschule exam there is a 20-minute break between the first part (Leseverstehen & Sprachbausteine) and the Hörverstehen part.
What do I need to bring to the exam?
You need an official ID card or passport with a photo! You may also bring a drink in a transparent bottle.
We will provide you with pencils and an eraser. If you wish, you can bring a pencil sharpener, but there are enough pencils available.
